April 7, 1969 was the birthday of the Internet. At that time, the Internet was very basic. We couldn’t use the Internet for many tasks. It was mainly used for information transfers.
However, now we can use the Internet for many tasks. Email is the most used method of communication. It is used for more than 97% of all telecommunication. The biggest use of the Internet is emailing. People can send and receive emails very quickly. People send and receive around 2.5 million emails per second.
In addition to communication, people can use the Internet for online-shopping, downloading or uploading documents, buying tickets or booking hotel rooms, and paying school fees.
With the introduction of social media like Facebook and Twitter, more and more people can get more benefits from the Internet. They can use these social media platforms on their computers, tablets, or smart phones. They can share their personal updates or news with friends or family. People can also do business on social media.
In the near future, people will be able to use the Internet even more than now. Many people will be able to use driverless cars. Doctors will be able to cure their patients more easily because they will be able to get patients’ information by using their smart phones. Policemen will be able to solve crimes easily because they will be able to get criminals’ information very quickly.
